You are invited to participate in a research study designed to
help in understanding how mothers and fathers are thought of in contemporary
American culture. Because there are many different types of mothers and
fathers, we are studying smaller groups based on their marital relationship
(e.g., married, divorced residential, divorced non-residential, step-, never
married, fathers in general, mothers in general, men in general, women in
general, adoptive, gay fathers and lesbian mothers). By doing this research,
we hope to benefit educators, policymakers, and the general public by having
a broader understanding of mothers and fathers.
The project poses no more risk than individuals normally encounter in daily life.
Your participation in this research is voluntary and confidential. There is no
software loading on your computer, the data collection is confidential and you
can choose to stop participating in this research at any time without any
repercussions for you. Completing the survey should take no more than 15
minutes.
